Enrolment Help

This document will guide you through the FTA enrolment process. This is a 2-step process: first create an FTA Campus user account and then log into the FTA Campus and fill in the Enrolment form. Do you have a campus account already? Go directly to the enrolment form!

Create a user account in the FTA Campus

Creating an account at the FTA Campus is easy, free as in free speach and free as in free beer!

  1. Point your browser to http://campus.ftacademy.org and click on the "Create a new account" button.
  2. Fill in the registration form. This information will be used in all FTA sites (FTA Campus, FTA Community Portal, FTA wiki...). If you plan to enrol any FTA modules, please keep in mind that this information will be used to issue your certificate, so you probably want to use your real name (you can also modify this information at a later stage).
  3. Wait for the confirmation email and confirm your user account.

Congratulations! You have now full access to the FTA Community Portal and the FTA Wiki. The FTA Campus has some areas open to all users (such as Guest Lectures and support forums), but most classrooms can only be accessed by enroled users.

Enrol an FTA module

By now you probably know that the FTA offers course modules on Free Technologies, which are recognised at master level by partner universities. You can see the list of upcoming modules in the FTA Programme page.

Please take into account that since January 2012 FTA courses are organised on-demand. Make sure to check the Course Coordination for available courses. We encourage you to join the FTA-discussion mailing list to participate in the process!

Once you have chosen which modules you want to join, follow these steps in order to complete your enrolment:

  1. Log into the FTA Campus with your username and password.
  2. Go to the Enrolment Form in the right column.
  3. Fill in the missing information. The form will be filled for you with the information you already provided for your FTA Campus account.
  4. Select the modules you wish to enrol. The list includes the tuition fee and the course schedule (year and term). For detailed information on the courses, please see the programme page.
  5. Tick the "Printed books" box if you want paper copies of the books sent to you. Please note that books are not included in the standard tuition fee.
  6. Click the "Submit" button.
  7. Review the information carefully in the confirmation screen. Press "Cancel" if you need to go back to the form.
  8. Once you're happy with the enrolment information, press "Submit".
  9. You will receive a confirmation email with the necessary information to pay the tuition fees and complete your enrolment.
